Social Media for Small Business

Social media has become increasingly important in the past 10 years. Businesses are realizing that there is a plethora of money to be made on social platforms. Big corporations aren’t the only ones who can capitalize on this trend. Here are a few tips for using social media to promote your small business.

  • Build a community instead of racking up likes. It looks great if your page has thousands of likes, however a community of active users is more powerful. After all, people will see your business if others are active and excited about it.

  • Link your social media accounts together. If you plan on having multiple accounts on social media, make sure that they are uniform. One example would be using the same username for all networks. There isn’t anything more confusing than having different profile names on separate platforms.

  • Don’t badger people. Obviously you are going to be excited to post content and get people excited about your company. Here’s the truth of the matter; not everyone wants to see your posts every single day. Make sure you’re posting an appropriate amount.

  • Don’t try to “go viral.” When content goes viral, it is mostly random. Small businesses should concentrate on producing good content that their viewers will find interesting and helpful. Keep it simple.
