Creating a company page à Dive in and complete your profile and don’t chip away at it. Try these six tips and tricks to improve your media presence on LinkedIn:

  1. 1. Imagery: Use your company logo as the profile picture and add an appropriate, relevant, and consistent banner image to convey the company’s mission. Then your profile with the company logo will appear when LinkedIn members search for your company. In addition, the profile picture will also be featured on employee profiles.

  2. 2. Build a strong network: Begin building your network by connecting and following competitors, clients, potential clients, inspirational pages or any pages that you would want to associate or learn about through the company.

  3. 3. Don’t cut corners: When Google searching, the first 156 characters of your company description or “About us” will be shown in the preview upon searching. Members of LinkedIn can also search based on keywords so be sure to have a description that is both punchy and powerful to appropriately represent your business, the mission, and the focus.

  4. 4. Claim your URL: More often than not, LinkedIn provides the account with a URL that includes the company name followed by an array of numbers and letters. To neaten up your page and the URL that will be passed around your network, you can customize it to just represent your company name. If the name is already taken, simply add a “1” at the end to keep it simple.

  5. 5. Show, don’t just tell: Share the company’s work and employee success and engagement within the company. Consider your posts as a showcase for the company and the hard working individuals that make it run. Sharing engaging content with daily company updates will put the company on the news feed more often and attract more attention.

  6. 6. Introductions and snappy headlines: Concise and snappy headlines will result in higher engagement. Try extracting a quote from the content that will reel in the reader. In addition, don’t be afraid to have a “call to action” in postings with an interactive link or ask a thoughtful question to entangle your target audience.

Revamp your current company pages There is always room for improvement. There is content to be developed and an audience ready to connect and engage. Try these six tips and tricks to improve your media presence on LinkedIn:

  1. 1. Engaging comments: Comments are a great way to keep your content flowing through the news feed. Comments are also a great way to respond to positive reactions, remove negative reactions, and monitor discussions.

  2. 2. Recruitment portal: Company page=Recruitment portal. This is a way to showcase the company’s employer brand. Using targeted content and job recommendations will engage quality candidates. Employee testimonials are great for communicating the culture at the company.

  3. 3. Set goals and targets: As you enhance company updates and performance via postings and activity, your analytics page will record and display engagement metrics on a monthly basis based on all posts, collectively. As you set goals and targets for your engagement metrics, the progression will show month to month.

  4. 4. Track progress: Your company page tracks useful and insightful data that shows the fluctuations in the size and structure of your follower base including activity on your page. Set goals for the company page in regards to gaining followers that fit your customer profile and then create postings that is designed to attract them to the page.

  5. 5. Content Alignment: Attract the right audience by developing content that is of high quality and quick to consume. You can even test your page with an experiment to be sure you understand your audience. Include entertaining, inspirational, informative, and insightful updated content.

  6. 6. Stand out in the news feed: Always include visuals when posting and be sure that the thumbnail image in the post matches the message you are trying to send. Posts with eye-catching visuals have 98% higher comment rate. Links to YouTube even play directly in the LinkedIn feed that result in a 75% higher share rate simply because it is easily accessible.
